Coventry Sphinx Youth Team are members of the Midland Floodlit Youth League and compete in the Premier Division.
They were promoted in May 2008 as runners up of the Eastern Division and are competing in the Premier Division for the very first time.
Former Manager John Woodward stepped up to become First Team Coach at the end of the 2007/08 season with former Coventry Copsewood Youth management duo Steve Shea and Neil Moran taking over in the summer of 2008.
The Youth Team has been very successful in recent years and is the natural progression for our junior players into senior football.
Many of our first team squad who won the Midland Football Combination in May 2007 had progressed from our juniors through to the youth team.
In November 2006 the youth team made history by playing in the FA Youth Cup First Round Proper when we hosted Nottingham Forest here at Sphinx Drive in front of over 600 supporters.
Defender Jack Pearson earned an 18 month contract with Nottingham Forest as a direct result of his performance in the FA Youth Cup.
